A mother in Hull is warning other parents about the dangers of suspected drug-laced vaping products after her 13-year-old identical twin daughters were found unconscious in a park and rushed to hospital in what authorities are treating as a deeply serious incident.
According to reports shared by the family, the teenage girls, identified as Scarlett and Olivia, had been spending time at a local park when they were allegedly given a vape device believed to contain dangerous substances, including suspected Spice and MDMA. The situation reportedly escalated rapidly, leaving both girls requiring emergency medical treatment.
Their mother said she received a terrifying phone call while at work informing her that her daughters had collapsed and were being taken to hospital. When she arrived, she reportedly found both girls unconscious and connected to IV drips as doctors worked to stabilize their condition.

Family members described the incident as every parent’s nightmare, saying the twins experienced severe physical distress after using the vape product. According to accounts provided by relatives, the girls allegedly suffered symptoms including foaming at the mouth, disorientation, and visible injuries sustained after collapsing in the park area.
Emergency responders and medical staff reportedly acted quickly to treat the teenagers, who later regained consciousness. The exact substances involved have not yet been officially confirmed by authorities, though concerns surrounding synthetic drugs and contaminated vaping products have intensified following the incident.
Spice, often used as a term for synthetic cannabinoids, is known to cause unpredictable and potentially life-threatening reactions, particularly in young people. Medical experts warn that products sold or distributed illegally may contain unknown chemical mixtures capable of triggering seizures, breathing difficulties, hallucinations, unconsciousness, or cardiac complications. MDMA, meanwhile, is a stimulant drug that can also become especially dangerous when mixed with other substances.
Police and local authorities are reportedly investigating how the vape product reached the girls and whether criminal offenses connected to supplying controlled substances to minors may have occurred. Officials have not publicly confirmed arrests at this stage of the investigation.
The incident has reignited concerns across the United Kingdom about the growing availability of vapes and illegal substances among teenagers. Child safety advocates and medical professionals have repeatedly warned parents that some devices circulating among young people may be altered or contaminated with synthetic drugs without users fully understanding what they are inhaling.
Health experts say adolescents are particularly vulnerable because synthetic substances can affect developing brains and bodies more severely than adults. Specialists also warn that counterfeit or unregulated vape products may contain chemicals far stronger and more unpredictable than expected.
The girls’ mother has since urged other parents to speak openly with their children about the risks associated with vaping and accepting products from strangers or acquaintances. She reportedly said she wanted other families to understand how quickly an ordinary afternoon with friends could turn into a medical emergency.
Social media reactions to the story have been emotional, with many parents expressing shock that children as young as 13 allegedly became exposed to dangerous substances in a public park setting. Others called for stronger enforcement against illegal vape distribution and greater awareness campaigns focused on teenage drug risks.
Schools and youth organizations across Britain have increasingly raised alarms about the spread of synthetic substances disguised inside vaping devices. Teachers and healthcare workers say many teenagers may mistakenly assume vaping products are harmless compared to other drugs, even though altered or black-market products can contain highly dangerous chemicals.
As the investigation continues, Scarlett and Olivia are reportedly recovering following the ordeal. For many parents following the case, the incident has become another disturbing reminder of how quickly experimental vaping among teenagers can escalate into a life-threatening emergency when unknown substances are involved.
