Prime Video’s Off-Campus is moving into a new chapter, and the next season appears ready to leave behind the comfort and certainty that defined Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham’s story. As the adaptation expands deeper into Briar University, Season 2 is expected to center on Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis — two characters whose relationship introduces a very different emotional energy to the franchise.

After building a loyal audience through its mix of romance, humor, and college hockey culture, Off-Campus now faces the challenge of proving the Briar universe can thrive beyond its original central couple. Early production updates suggest the series intends to do exactly that by adapting one of the most popular storylines from the original novels and leaning into a more emotionally unpredictable direction.

Season 2 is expected to draw heavily from The Score, one of the standout books written by Elle Kennedy. Unlike the softer emotional arc that shaped the first season, this chapter shifts attention toward a relationship built on blurred expectations, impulsive decisions, and two people who never planned to fall into something serious.

Dean Di Laurentis enters the season carrying a reputation that already made him one of the most recognizable personalities inside Briar University.

Confident, socially fearless, and committed to keeping relationships uncomplicated, Dean spent much of the earlier story avoiding emotional attachment entirely. His personality often turned him into the source of lighter moments within the friend group, but underneath the humor there were signs that his confidence worked as protection against deeper uncertainty.

Season 2 appears prepared to challenge that version of Dean.

At the center of that change is Allie Hayes.

Unlike people who are easily pulled into Dean’s orbit, Allie approaches relationships differently. Independent, emotionally intelligent, and unwilling to settle for surface-level connection, she becomes someone who forces Dean to confront feelings he has spent years avoiding. What starts casually quickly becomes harder to define, placing both characters into unfamiliar emotional territory.

One of the reasons readers responded so strongly to this storyline is because it never treated romance as effortless.

The emotional tension comes less from dramatic villains or impossible circumstances and more from the uncomfortable realization that feelings can change expectations faster than people are prepared to admit. That approach helped make Allie and Dean’s story one of the most discussed arcs in the franchise.

Season 2 is also expected to maintain the larger ensemble structure introduced previously.

Hannah and Garrett remain important parts of the Briar world, allowing the series to preserve continuity while opening space for new emotional conflicts. Other returning characters continue reinforcing the idea that every relationship affects the larger social circle, keeping Briar University feeling interconnected rather than divided into separate stories.

At the same time, the college hockey setting may play a stronger role moving forward.

Competition, team pressure, changing priorities, and the tension between private decisions and public consequences all create opportunities for relationships to become more complicated. The upcoming season appears interested in exploring what happens when emotional choices begin affecting friendships, routines, and group dynamics.

Another major reason excitement remains high is because Off-Campus has steadily positioned itself as more than a traditional romance adaptation.

The first season succeeded by balancing chemistry with emotional growth and allowing characters to feel imperfect rather than idealized. Season 2 appears ready to continue that direction while introducing more mature questions about commitment, timing, and whether people can remain emotionally detached once real feelings appear.

Prime Video has not announced a premiere date yet, but expectations continue pointing toward a 2027 release window as production progresses.

If the adaptation captures the emotional energy that made Allie and Dean’s story so popular among readers, the next chapter may not simply continue the success of Season 1 — it may redefine what Off-Campus looks like going forward.

At Briar University, the game is changing.

And this time, surviving emotions might be harder than surviving the season.
