The tragedy traces back to the evening of Saturday, January 31, 2026. Moody had been attending a local party in Dane End, where witnesses later confirmed he consumed alcoholic drinks. Despite being entirely uninsured and holding no valid driver’s license, Moody took the keys to another guest’s vehicle, piling three teenagers—including young Evelyn—into the car.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the vehicle tearing down rural roads, driven erratically and at high speeds. As Moody navigated Whitehill, he completely failed to negotiate a sharp corner, hurtling off the tarmac and smashing straight through a security fence.
