The girl’s father, 23-year-old Johmarea Harris, was arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse, while her mother, 22-year-old Michilae Herring, faces charges of homicide by child abuse and filing a false police report. Both remain in custody.
Javeayah was initially reported missing from her home near Hillsboro Street and Ridgecrest Road around 8:15 p.m. on June 30. Described as a smart, talkative, and friendly girl who loved Minnie Mouse and chasing chickens, she stood 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 42 pounds.
