A group of oddballs was filmed emerging from a Brooklyn sewer early Friday morning in a bizarre scene that left New Yorkers puzzled.

The NYPD has launched an investigation into the strange stunt, which was captured in shocking footage obtained by The Flatbush Scoop.

The video shows one person lifting a manhole cover on McDonald Avenue in Gravesend and placing it on the curb between parked cars. Moments later, someone emerged from the sewer holding a flashlight. Then another appeared, followed by more, until seven people were standing in the roadway.

Some were wearing waders and boots. They proceeded to strip off their apparently filthy clothes on the sidewalk and load them into three waiting cars.

The clip ends there, but the bizarre incident prompted police to send investigators to the area. Footage from the investigation, also obtained by The Flatbush Scoop, shows officers pulling one of their own — dressed in a masked respirator and brown-stained white coveralls — out of the sewer after a search.

No arrests have been made, according to police.

Hours later, a crew from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection was seen working at the site.

A DEP spokesperson told The Post the team was “inspecting the sewer infrastructure at this location to ensure there is no damage to the system.”

The statement added: “Entering the sewer system is both illegal and extremely dangerous. Sewers can contain numerous hazards, including noxious and potentially deadly gases, unstable surfaces, flooding risks, and confined spaces.”

On X, users were quick to make jokes about the incident.

“Did any of them have…..turtle shells….on their backs?” one user commented.

“Just the Ghostbusters checking out the slime,” another wrote.
