Philadelphia police have discovered a disturbing snuff movie that appears to show a woman being brutally strangled inside a sprawling, crime-riddled property known as the “House of Horrors.” The footage, recovered on a hard drive, has sent shockwaves through the city and reignited fears that this home is at the center of a series of unsolved murders.
The grim discovery was made at a house in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood, a once-quiet row-house area that has long been plagued by drugs and crime. Inside, investigators found 50 hard drives packed with hundreds of thousands of videos, photos, and disturbing writings. They also recovered five urns containing cremated remains, along with more than 20 containers of unknown chemicals and an oily substance.
Among the evidence is the snuff movie itself – a graphic recording that police believe captures a real-life strangulation. The woman’s identity has not been released, but authorities have notified a family member. No body has been found yet, but digital evidence points to the deaths of at least three of the five missing women linked to the property.
This is not an isolated case. The house has been tied to several unsolved disappearances over the years. Two of the missing women, Maribel Fresses (last seen in 2018) and Gabrielle Amarando (last seen in 2012), have now been linked through photos and videos showing what appear to be their deceased bodies with visible injuries. Another woman, Amy McHale, Raymond Horsch’s ex-wife, vanished in 2016. A fifth woman was carrying an identification badge belonging to Blair Tonzelli, who disappeared in 2023. Police believe all five women may be dead, though human remains have yet to be recovered.
The property’s most infamous resident was the late Raymond “RC” Horsch, a former pornographer who died in 2025 at age 82. He built his dark reputation by luring drug-addicted women from the dangerous Kensington neighborhood and recording graphic footage of them being drowned, hanged, or strangled – often while posing as a compassionate serial killer. His son, Eugene Horsch, 44, was arrested in June 2026 alongside a woman, loaded guns, drugs, and a fake DEA badge. He now faces federal firearms and fraudulent credential charges, but no murder charges have been filed against him yet.
Eugene’s defense has claimed some of the disturbing material belongs to his late father. However, investigators note that the father and son shared similar interests in extreme violence against vulnerable women. Former FBI profiler James R. Fitzgerald, who grew up just blocks away in Olney, described the situation as a clear case of “past behavior predicting future behavior.” He warned that the son’s disregard for women – especially marginalized ones – likely mirrors his father’s.
The Olney neighborhood itself tells the story: once a peaceful Italian, German, and Irish community, it became a hotspot for fentanyl and violence. The “House of Horrors” has now drawn national attention, with rumors of a possible connection to the infamous Gary Heidnik case still circulating in local discussions.
As police continue sifting through thousands of photos and videos, one question hangs over the investigation: How many more women are still missing? And what else is hidden in those 50 hard drives?
