Family Finally at Peace: Alleged Psychopathic Stepbrother Shipped to Jail in Horrific Cruise Ship M.u.r.d.e.r of Cheerleader Anna Kepner

Anna Kepner’s family says they are finally “at peace” after the cheerleader’s stepbrother and accused killer was ordered back to jail ahead of his trial.

The family of the slain 18-year-old expressed relief that Timothy Hudson, 16, “will not be able to harm anyone else” after a Florida judge revoked his pretrial release on June 15.

In a written order, U.S. Magistrate Judge Edwin G. Torres said the evidence against Hudson demonstrated a level of danger that could not be adequately controlled through monitoring or a curfew.

“It was painful for our family to know that he had been free for as long as he was,” the Kepner family said in a statement to ABC News.

“We are now at peace knowing that he will not be able to harm anyone else while awaiting trial.”

Hudson, who is being prosecuted as an adult, faces charges of murder and aggravated sexual abuse in connection with Kepner’s death by asphyxiation aboard a Carnival Cruise ship in November 2025.

The cruise had been a family vacation, and Kepner and Hudson had been assigned to share a room.

Following the tragedy, the family became publicly divided after Hudson’s step-grandmother criticized the parents’ decision to have the two share a room, describing it as a recipe for disaster.

After his arrest in early February 2026 on sealed juvenile charges, a federal grand jury indicted Hudson as an adult on March 10, 2026, on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated sexual abuse.

The case was formally transferred to adult court in mid-April, and on June 15, 2026, a federal judge revoked Hudson’s pretrial release and ordered him held in jail pending trial.

Kepner’s family noted that the decision came just days after what would have been Anna’s 19th birthday.

“While birthdays are never the same without her, we continue to honor her memory and cherish the love and joy she brought to our lives,” the family wrote.

The statement concluded by saying the family “remain hopeful for a swift conclusion to this process and for justice to be served.”
