Jalen Brunson’s anger toward referee Scott Foster appeared to be as massive as Texas.

The Knicks star was visibly irate with the official late in the first half of Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night. With just under six minutes remaining, no foul was called after Spurs big man Luke Kornet landed directly on Brunson’s ankle as the guard fell to the floor while driving to the basket.

Brunson immediately approached Foster and shouted in his direction once a timeout was called. A teammate quickly intervened and pulled Brunson away, while Foster ignored the outburst and walked in the opposite direction.

At the time, the Knicks were trailing 37-32. The incident marked the second time in the game Brunson appeared to be in discomfort.

Kornet clearly landed on Brunson’s ankle, prompting an immediate reaction of pain from the Knicks guard. While on the ground, Brunson grabbed his ankle and was later seen limping back to the Knicks bench during the timeout. However, he remained in the game.

Earlier in the contest, Brunson had to be substituted after being knocked into by Harrison Barnes, who appeared to hit him in the right knee. Mikal Bridges entered the game with 1:27 left in the first quarter. Brunson returned to action with roughly eight minutes remaining in the second quarter.

The Knicks went into halftime trailing 55-46.
