Evil Scissor Sister Charlotte Mulhall claims she is a changed woman and is slowly adapting to life outside prison.

The 44-year-old notorious killer is now being freed on temporary release for a day or a half day on a regular basis over the past few months so she gets used to being a free person again.

But she has told prison staff: “I am sorry for what I did and I know it destroyed my life.”

She served over 20 years for the murder of her mother Kathleen’s Kenyan lover Farah Swaleh Noor, 38.

Charlotte slit his throat with a blade after he made a pass at her sister Linda at their Dublin home in March 20, 2005. They were high on drink and ecstasy at the time.

The two sisters subsequently chopped up his corpse in the bathroom with a bread knife and hammer and put most of his body parts into a suitcase before dumping it in the Royal Canal, where it was found 10 days later.

They disposed of his head separately and buried and reburied it in a number of locations after taking a bus to Tallaght, south Dublin. His head has never been found.

The lesbian mother-of-one has kept out of trouble in Limerick Prison in recent years. She is being let out under licence from the Independent Probation Board.

It is understood she expressed deep remorse for the horrendous crime.

A prison source said: “Charlotte Mulhall has a lot of regrets and very few memories of what happened that night because she was so out of it on the booze and the drugs.

“She feels she has served her time and is grateful to get a second chance in life. She was incarcerated at a very young age and now has a real opportunity to put this shocking period of her life behind her, and make a new start.”

Her sister Linda Mulhall was freed several years ago in 2018 after serving a 15-year sentence for manslaughter.

The mother-of-four, a former heroin addict has kept out of trouble and has left the past behind her. She is believed to be living in another jurisdiction.

It is not known where Charlotte will live when she is let out later this summer and if she will return to her native Dublin.

She would have to get special permission to be allowed to leave the country even for a holiday because she will be out on parole.

The prison insider said: “She will be released under the supervision of the Independent Parole Board on parole and they will be constantly checking up on her.

“She is being given all these day releases just like any other lifer coming to the end of their sentence so that she can adjust to life on the outside.

“ She will probably hope to get a job and somewhere discreet to stay. She will be given help by the Probation Service to get back on her feet.

“The sentence she received is for life and if she breaks any of the terms of her release she will be immediately sent back to jail.

“She would have to get special permission from the Parole Board to be allowed to travel abroad to see her sister. That is something they might look at down the road. To be fair there are very few cases where life prisoners break the rules and are returned to jail.” Mulhall has been given her release date.

The prison source added: “I would expect her to be back living in Irish society by the end of the summer at the latest.”
