“Travis Wasn’t Ready for Forever”: Shocking Early Days of Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s Romance Exposed Just Days Before Their Wedding!

It was almost a cruel summer for Taylor Swift.

Travis Kelce, 36, was the one who first pursued the 36-year-old superstar after attending the Kansas City, Missouri, stop of her Eras Tour in July 2023 with hopes of giving her his phone number.

The NFL star famously wrote his number on a friendship bracelet, but according to Kelce, Swift “didn’t want to meet.”

“She doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce explained on his “New Heights” podcast at the time. “I took it personal.”

Two months later, The Messenger reported that the pair had actually been “quietly hanging out.”

However, according to the Daily Mail, multiple sources claimed Kelce maintained a “no-strings-attached” mindset during the first few months of their relationship.

“He wasn’t looking for anything serious — that’s for sure,” one insider alleged. “He was dating other people at the same time before they went public.”

Another source told the outlet, “He was definitely still dating around [in the beginning].”

One insider also claimed Kelce initially viewed the friendship bracelet gesture as more of a joke and “didn’t think it was going to go anywhere.”

Three additional sources told the Daily Mail that, in the early stages of their romance, the Chiefs tight end was not always quick to respond to Swift’s text messages.

“[He wasn’t avoiding her], but you’re not going to be pressed onto something if you’re not looking for something serious,” one source said. “He just wasn’t pursuing her heavily. He’s a football player!”

“Travis wasn’t looking for anything serious, and once you get into the Taylor world, it’s instantly serious,” another source added.

According to the sources, Kelce and Swift did not become exclusive until September 2023.

Page Six reached out to representatives for the couple for comment.

The couple became engaged in August 2025 after two years of dating.

Swift and Kelce are now set to tie the knot over the Fourth of July weekend.

The Post confirmed Friday that a rehearsal dinner will be held at Madison Square Garden on July 2, with an insider saying around 100 close family members and friends are expected to attend.

The following day, July 3, Swift and Kelce are expected to host between 1,000 and 2,000 guests at the venue.

Multiple sources told Page Six that the couple enlisted celebrity wedding planner Mark Seed to oversee the event.

One source said Seed, Swift and Kelce have been working together “for months.”

The couple’s wedding was originally reported to be scheduled for June 13 at the luxurious Ocean House in Watch Hill, where Swift owns an estate.

According to reports, the Grammy winner was so determined to marry on that date that she allegedly paid a substantial sum to another bride who had already reserved the venue.

Months later, it was revealed that Swift and Kelce decided to move the ceremony elsewhere to accommodate a larger guest list.

A-list celebrities reportedly expected to attend include Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Zoë Kravitz, Suki Waterhouse, Karlie Kloss, the Haim sisters and Gigi Hadid.

Swift allegedly invited guests personally over the phone and required those who accepted to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement.

Last week, both Swift and Kelce were spotted spending time with friends as their wedding date drew closer.

On June 17, Kelce was photographed arriving at Bird Streets Club in Los Angeles alongside his brother Jason Kelce, comedian Druski and former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Ross Travis.

Meanwhile, at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion, a woman resembling the singer was seen on the balcony wearing white while surrounded by three female friends dressed in black.
