Heartless K.i.l.le.r Caught on Video Ruthlessly Lying to Police as Innocent Student Henry Nowak Lay Dying from His S.t.a.b Wounds

The shocking moment Henry Nowak’s killer repeatedly lied to police while the student lay dying has been revealed in newly released bodycam footage.

The footage shows 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa falsely claiming he had been “racially attacked” by Henry.

He told officers that Henry “pushed my turban off my head, started grabbing my hair,” and called him a racial slur.

In reality, Digwa had randomly stabbed the 18-year-old university student five times during a brutal attack in Southampton, Hampshire, last December.

When officers asked how Henry had sustained a wound to his face, Digwa never admitted he had stabbed him multiple times.

Instead, the killer initially feigned ignorance, asking, “What wound, sorry?”

He then claimed, “Must have been when we punched him.”

Digwa also falsely told officers that he and his brother had become involved in an altercation after Henry attacked them first.

He further alleged that Henry had injured himself while climbing over bins before falling onto a car.

According to the bodycam timestamp, Henry had stopped breathing 13 minutes before officers calmly questioned Digwa.

While Henry was behind a fence receiving CPR and fighting for his life, Digwa continued repeating his false account.

At 11:55 p.m., the officer wearing the bodycam informed Digwa he was being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

“You’ve got your side of the story, mate. We don’t know what’s gone on here, OK?” the officer said.

At no point during the footage was Digwa placed in handcuffs.

“I’m not saying you’ve done anything, mate, but we need to find out what’s happened, OK?” the officer added.

Digwa again insisted, “Mate, I’ve been racially attacked.”

Police failed to believe Henry’s repeated pleas that he had been stabbed and could not breathe until it was too late. He died later that night.

Southampton Crown Court heard that Digwa falsely accused Henry of making racist remarks in what prosecutors described as a “wicked lie” after officers arrived.

Although Digwa denied charges of murder and possessing a bladed article, he was convicted of murder and carrying a knife in public.

Earlier this month, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years, a punishment that sparked widespread public anger.

Previously released bodycam footage showed officers ignoring Henry’s desperate pleas for help while arresting him after Digwa accused his victim of making racist remarks.

In the footage, the teenager can be heard saying, “I can’t breathe,” and “I’ve been stabbed,” yet officers continued to detain him.

One officer responded bluntly: “You’ve been stabbed? Whereabouts? Don’t think you have, mate.”

A longer transcript of the footage later revealed the moment officers realized Henry had been telling the truth.

Police had arrived at the scene three minutes earlier and had already requested an ambulance.

Moments later, officers discovered that the first-year finance student had stopped breathing, prompting a far more urgent response.

They requested either a medic or an armed response vehicle equipped with a defibrillator before moving Henry and beginning CPR.

A female officer started chest compressions before a male colleague took over, instructing bystanders to stand back.

Another officer radioed for an ambulance, reporting that Henry was “unconscious.”

As CPR continued, the male officer repeatedly urged the teenager to “stay with me” while colleagues offered to relieve him.

After briefly pausing, officers described Henry as “lifeless,” and a female officer shone a torch on him.

By then, crews from South Central Ambulance Service had arrived, but officers continued administering emergency treatment.

One officer could be heard saying, “He’s gone,” before another cut open Henry’s clothing, revealing the extent of his injuries.

Officers then reported they had “just discovered a stab wound” — roughly eight minutes after arriving at the scene — as paramedics prepared to take over.

Medical teams fought to save Henry’s life for nearly an hour before an emergency doctor pronounced him dead at 12:37 a.m.

Hampshire Police is currently under investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over the handling of Henry’s arrest.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said he “felt sick” after watching the bodycam footage, while Nigel Farage criticized officers for accepting Digwa’s false claim that he had been the victim of a racist attack.

Solicitor General Ellie Reeves has since referred the sentence to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme, saying the case “horrified me.”

“It is right that difficult questions need to be answered about the way the police handled Henry Nowak’s murder, while my role is to review Digwa’s sentence for his crimes,” Reeves said.

“After careful consideration, I have taken the decision to refer this case to the Court of Appeal.

“No sentence can ever undo the devastation that Henry’s family have suffered, or fill the void left by his loss.

“But I hope this referral goes some way towards bringing them the justice they deserve.”
