Pete Wicks, the 36-year-old reality TV star, has caused a stir on social media after declaring that he prefers dogs to people. Speaking in an interview to promote his new documentary, “Pete Wicks: For the Love of Dogs”, Pete said: “It might sound harsh, but it’s the truth – I prefer dogs to people”.
Pete, who owns two rescue French bulldogs, Eric and Peggy, explained that he was drawn to the unconditional love and loyalty of dogs. “Dogs don’t judge, they don’t betray; they just love you,” he said. “I’ve had a tough time in recent years, and my dogs have been by my side throughout. They don’t care what anyone else thinks; they just want to be loved and cared for.”
However, not everyone agrees with Pete’s view. Some fans have called him “rude and ridiculous”, while others have defended him, saying he’s just being honest about his love for animals.
Mixed Reactions
Some social media users have expressed their outrage, calling Pete “insensitive” and “arrogant”. “People are dealing with real struggles, and he’s just saying he prefers dogs? That’s just not on,” one user wrote. “Who does he think he is? He can’t just say that about people!”
However, others have come to Pete’s defense, saying he’s just being honest about his love for animals. “I think it’s great that Pete is honest about his love for dogs. We need more people like him,” another user wrote. “Dogs are amazing creatures, and they deserve to be loved and cared for.”
New Documentary
The documentary, “Pete Wicks: For the Love of Dogs”, will air on January 7 and will follow Pete as he works with dog rescue centers across the UK. He’ll meet owners who are struggling to care for their pets and help them find new homes for abandoned dogs.
Pete said: “I want to help these dogs find new homes and show them that there are still good people in the world. I hope this documentary will raise awareness about the issue of abandoned dogs and encourage people to adopt from rescue centers.”
Pete’s Response
Pete has responded to the criticism, saying he didn’t mean to offend anyone. “I’m just being honest about my love for dogs,” he said. “I’m not saying people aren’t important, but dogs have a special way of touching our hearts. I hope people can understand where I’m coming from.”
Whether you agree with Pete or not, one thing’s for sure – he’s sparked a heated debate on social media. What do you think about Pete’s view? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
