STEFAN Dennis’s future on Strictly Come Dancing has been revealed after he pulled out of the show due to illness.
The Neighbours actor, 66, has been given a bye to this week’s show and is relishing returning to the dance floor with pro partner Dianne Buswell.
A source told The Sun: “Stefan is back this Saturday night and can’t wait to perform. He was desperate to go ahead with his routine last week, but doctor’s orders made it impossible for him to continue.
“Having rested up he’s now feeling much better and is back rehearsing with Dianne. He’s ready to give it his all at the weekend.”
TV insiders say he is set to make the announcement on BBC Two’s It Takes Two tonight.
Stefan missed out on Movie Week in which Lorraine star Ross King was given the boot.
He had been due to perform a Waltz to It Is You (I Have Loved) from Shrek.
Ahead of the show, Dianne said: “Sending all my Aussie love steffo [heart emoji] I know how much you wanted to dance.”
The pregnant Australian dancer also reassured fans their absence from the competition wasn’t part of an elaborate cover-up for her being unable to dance.
Dianne wrote: “Just to clarify as I have had lots of people msg me thinking this is a cover up for me being not able to dance!?
“Firstly we wouldn’t lie especially about somebody being sick!
“And secondly I am fine, yes I am pregnant but I’m also very capable and feeling really good!”
In Week One, Stefan performed a mistake-filled Cha Cha Cha to Give It Up by KC and The Sunshine Band.
The judges panel gave a mixed review with Craig Revel Horwood branding the dance “stompy” and “stiff” whilst Anton Du Beke thought it was “very good” in places.
Stefan also went on to explain that even before stepping onto the floor he was ‘petrified’ admitting that the routine had completely ‘stumped’ him.
The pair ended up receiving a score of just 17 placing them as one of the lower scoring couples.
However, he avoided the dance-off, with Chris Robshaw beating Thomas Skinner to remain in the competition.
