Eight months after the disappearance of Lily Sullivan and Jack Sullivan, a new discovery has drawn renewed attention to the case.
During a community-led search effort in Nova Scotia, volunteers discovered a waterlogged box in a river downstream from the primary search area. According to search organizers, the box contained names written on paper.
The discovery was immediately reported to authorities.
RCMP Takes Possession
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that officers took possession of the box shortly after it was found.
While officials have not disclosed the full contents, investigators expressed significant interest in the item, particularly given where it was located — submerged in a river.
Police emphasized that the evidence is now being analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation.

Found During Community Search
The box was discovered during a coordinated community search organized months after the children were reported missing.
Volunteers were searching areas downstream when the object was spotted in the water. Organizers say its condition indicated it had been exposed to the elements for an extended period.
Why the Location Matters
Investigators have not commented on how long the box may have been in the river, but its location has become a key point of interest.
In missing-person investigations, the placement of an object can be as important as its contents, offering potential insight into movement, timing, or intent.
Contents Not Fully Disclosed
Authorities have declined to release details about the names found inside the box or how they may relate to the case.
RCMP said withholding information is necessary to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
The Case So Far
Lily and Jack Sullivan were reported missing on May 2, 2025, from their home in Lansdowne Station.
Despite extensive searches and public appeals, the children have not been located.
Eight Months Without Answers
The discovery comes eight months after the initial report, a period marked by repeated searches and ongoing analysis.
Officials say every new piece of potential evidence is being carefully reviewed.
Investigation Continues
RCMP confirmed that forensic analysis is underway to determine the relevance of the box and its contents.
Authorities urged the public to avoid speculation and to report any information that may assist the investigation.
For now, the box recovered from the river represents a new lead — but not yet an answer.
