The King has paid a very sweet tribute to his baby sister just before she turns 75.

Royal family: The cute role Prince Charles played in helping Princess Anne come up with daughter Zara's unusual royal name - MyLondon

King Charles shared an adorable film of Princess Anne’s earliest years and it confirmed what we all knew – when they were little, it was Anne who was in charge.

The film includes some little snapshots of the siblings in their earliest years, starting with Charles being brought in for an almost cuddle at Anne’s christening in 1950. As the Princess nestles in the arms of her mother, later Queen Elizabeth II, Charles bobs in to have a look and then runs away to do something more interesting for a two year old.

Later, the two are seen on board HMY Britannia and at Balmoral. And showing he knows his sister very well indeed, The King has made her love of horses the centre of this birthday tribute.

In a very special moment, a very young Anne is seen looking very excited as a pony trots past. Footage also shows her getting involved with equestrianism as she grows up and leading a horse into a field.

There are also some very special family moments showing a young Charles and Anne with their parents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

It’s a touching tribute from the Royal Family to the Princess who has been a cornerstone for the House of Windsor for decades.

Princess Anne will celebrate her birthday privately but the Royal Family is making a bit of a fuss despite the King’s sister trying to brush it off.

There’s already been an official portrait to mark the 75th, taken at the French State Banquet at Windsor Castle, showing Anne with her husband, Sir Tim Laurence.

The Royal Mint also issued the first ever commemorative coin featuring Princess Anne.

Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise was born on August 15th 1950 at Clarence House. She was third in line to the throne at the time – she’s not 18th.
