The sisters and parents of Lidya Valdivia Juárez, through social media, have condemned the fact that media outlets have questioned the pregnancy of the 25-year-old, who has been missing since January 18.

Marleny and Alexa, Lidya’s sisters, asked the public not to believe fake news, which only distracts from the main objective of the case: finding their sister. They condemned the fact that they had to prove she was pregnant and that ultrasound images were published. Both emphasized that their family’s pain is not fabricated.

They also clarified that the Puebla State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has not yet issued a final result of its investigation.

“ The prosecutor’s office still hasn’t provided any answers. We, as a family, were involved in this process with her. And reading these kinds of notes and comments hurts even more because it seems that empathy has been lost. My sister is a loved, longed-for, and searched-for person. We won’t stop until we find you, my sister , ” she added.

For their part, in a recent interview, Lidya’s parents mentioned that the last time they saw her was on January 17th and indicated that they agreed to meet the next day at 6:30 in the morning to go together to her scheduled delivery at the Ángeles Hospital in the city of Puebla.

They stated that they did not know the reason why their daughter had traveled to Acajete, since she has her residence in the capital of Puebla, and detailed that in the early morning of January 18th they received a call from their daughter Marleny , who asked them about her sister.

She had previously received a call from Lidya’s romantic partner, Luis Torres, who questioned her about the whereabouts of the 25-year-old.

Feminists join the family’s demand

The group Women for the Right to Care and a Life Free of Violence supported the request of Lidya Valdivia Juárez’s family to not share versions that revictimize the young woman and that stray from the main objective of the complaint, which is to locate her alive.

This is due to the alleged line of investigation that has been leaked in some local circles, where Lidya’s pregnancy is called into question.

The collective stressed that the family has every right to know the young woman’s whereabouts and clarified that any information related to her personal life is only the responsibility of the authorities in charge of the case.

He added that this information should only be made public if it is relevant to the investigation and if it contributes to locating the alleged victim.
