Harrison Ford stormed off ‘The View’ after clash with Joy Behar?

In late July 2025, a claim circulated online alleging that actor Harrison Ford walked off the set of ABC’s daytime talk show “The View” after host Joy Behar aggressively questioned him about his political views.

One example came from a video posted posted (archived) by the YouTube channel ST Real Life on July 21 and claimed Ford was on the show to promote a new war movie. The narration began:

If you are into real Hollywood drama, behind-the-scenes tension, and unexpected celebrity walkouts, you’re not going to want to miss this one. This story has it all—intensity, confrontation, and a twist that no one saw coming. Stick around, because what happened backstage was even more shocking than what aired live. And remember to hit that like button, drop your thoughts in the comments, and subscribe for more explosive celebrity moments, because this one will leave you speechless.

According to the video, Ford appeared on “The View” to promote a “gritty war drama set in post-World War II Europe.” Behar allegedly pressed Ford about his responsibility as an influential actor to speak out on current political issues, with the conversation escalating when she suggested his silence on contemporary matters could be seen as cowardice. The narration described Ford becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the line of questioning, saying he hadn’t “stormed Normandy to be grilled on breakfast TV” before walking off the set while cameras scrambled and the show cut to commercials.

Similar claims appeared elsewhere on Facebook (archived). Notably, ST Real Life published two other videos on YouTube with similar claims about Ford walking off “The View,” one (archived) on July 15, which had more than 36,000 views as of this writing, and another (archived) on July 16, which had 48,000 views.

However, we have rated this claim false.

While Ford did appear on “The View” in the past, there was no evidence of any incident in 2025 involving him walking off the show.

No evidence of 2025 appearance

Searches (archived) of TV Guide’s “The View” episode database revealed no documentation of any Harrison Ford appearance on the show in 2025.

Had such an incident involving a celebrity of Ford’s stature walking off a television program occurred, it would have generated immediate and extensive media coverage across entertainment news outlets. However, a Google News search (archived) found no coverage of the rumor.

According to the Internet Movie Database, Ford previously appeared (archived) on “The View” on May 23, 2008, to promote his film “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” A recording of that appearance shows that Ford completed that interview with hosts — including Behar — without incident.

The video discussed above claimed Ford was promoting a war film during the alleged 2025 appearance. However, at the time of this writing Ford had no such film scheduled for release. His most recent film projects (archived) included the Marvel film “Captain America: Brave New World,” which was released on Feb. 14, 2025, and “Thunderbolts*,” which premiered on May 2, 2025. Neither film matched the description in the video.

Pattern of AI-generated content

The descriptions of the ST Real Life videos contained disclaimers stating: “This video is created for entertainment and storytelling purposes. Some scenes may be dramatized. No defamation or harm is intended toward any individual or organization.” This disclaimer effectively acknowledged that the content was fabricated rather than based on real events.

The videos contained multiple indicators that their audio narration was generated by artificial intelligence rather than recorded during an actual television appearance, such as promotional language and a uniform structure.

The rumor about Ford also shared elements with another fabricated story Snopes previously debunked, which claimed Tom Cruise walked off “The View” after Behar questioned him about Scientology.
