He is accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her husband, Dr. Spencer Tepe, in their Columbus, Ohio, home on December 30, 2025, while their two kids were in the house.

The children, aged one and four, were reportedly found unharmed and are now being cared for by family.

Police say surveillance video and vehicle tracking placed McKee near the scene of the killings shortly before and after the shootings.

Multiple firearms were seized from his Illinois property after his arrest on January 10, and one weapon has been preliminarily linked to the crime through ballistic evidence, according to authorities.

Prosecutors have upgraded charges against McKee to premeditated aggravated murder as the investigation continues, and his public defender has revealed he plans to plead not guilty.

There is no clear motive at this stage, and police say the crime is being investigated as domestic violence-related, linked to McKee’s prior marriage to Monique nearly a decade earlier.

The U.S. Sun can now reveal an old Bumble dating profile that paints McKee as a youthful 32-year-old surgeon, packed with unsettlingly charming details aimed at potential matches.

He can be seen beaming in the primary photograph, showing off a tan and wearing a lilac sweater over a white shirt, posing with a childhood lunch box, which shows the name ‘Mike’ and a dinosaur.

HOT YOGA FAN

McKee listed himself as a vascular surgeon who studied at Ohio State University.

In his ‘About Me’ section, he wrote, “Lucky to have work I find meaningful and increased free time for new things – currently trying hot yoga (way less flexible than I recall), planning trip itineraries to finally make use of Global Entry, and hopped on an electric motorcycle (haven’t died yet!)”

McKee claims he’s 6ft 2 in the profile, active, drinks socially, never smokes, and wants children someday.

He listed art, design, basketball, football, and skiing among his interests, and had his location set as Los Angeles when the profile was live.

McKee claimed the pro and con of dating him is “I’ve perfected the chocolate chip cookie.”

He also added music interests, including DMX, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Soundgarden.

In the section ‘two truths and a lie’, he also wrote, “I’ve cycled to from the Pacific to the Atlantic, went full eight seconds [on] rodeo, and drink water when I’m thirsty.”

The True Crime Mama account first revealed the profile and was independently verified.

McKee and Monqiue married on August 22, 2015, and she later filed for divorce in May 2017, which was finalized just weeks later in June, according to records obtained by The U.S. Sun.

The 55 pages of filings appear to show the couple had a typical split, made easier by the fact that they didn’t share any children.

Monique even kept her maiden surname throughout their short-lived union.

At the time, she claimed the pair was “incompatible,” revealing in the docs that she and McKee were already living in different states when the filing was made.

Sources claim he has never remarried and does not have children.

Despite it seemingly being an easy divorce, the family told The U.S. Sun that Monique went through hell while she was married to McKee.

PREVIOUS THREATS

A source said, “He’s clearly mentally unstable. We suspected him because of the prior emotional abuse he inflicted on Monique.

“Police never told us he was a suspect or gave us info about him.

“He had threatened to kill her multiple times when they were married.”

The pair is said to have had very different personalities, with Monique being social and McKee being introverted, according to sources.

It is not known if McKee was in touch with Monqiue and Spencer in the days before their death, and they had not said anything to their families about being concerned for their safety.

Separate sources say McKee was adopted as a child, but had a good upbringing and had always known about his past.

He is said to have been a high achiever growing up and met Monique while attending Ohio State University.

His family has not responded to requests for comment.

In his first court appearance, McKee waived his right to extradition, and the court ruled that he be sent to Ohio to stand trial.

A public defender speaking on his behalf noted her client’s right to remain silent and that he was pleading not guilty to all the charges as he refused to utter a word.

He’s expected to be transferred to Franklin County this week and will remain behind bars ahead of trial.

McKee was already facing serious legal issues tied to his work before the criminal case emerged.

Court documents show he was named in at least one medical malpractice lawsuit in Nevada, where attorneys said they spent years trying to track him down as the case moved forward.

The 2023 lawsuit accused McKee of professional negligence after a patient allegedly suffered severe complications during a procedure, requiring emergency follow-up surgery.

Legal filings indicate that efforts to formally serve McKee with court papers were repeatedly frustrated by inaccurate or misleading contact details.

According to attorneys involved, the information on file included a business address that did not exist and phone numbers that led nowhere, delaying progress in the case.

A later amended complaint filed in Nevada in September 2025 raised additional claims, alleging a surgical device fractured inside a patient’s leg during an operation.

That filing also stated McKee could not be located to accept service of legal documents.

By the time those allegations surfaced, McKee had already left Las Vegas and was no longer easily reachable by those pursuing the civil action.

Lawyers involved in the malpractice dispute told local media they were perplexed by McKee’s sudden disappearance, noting it is highly unusual for a physician to be unresponsive when confronted with serious civil claims.

One Nevada attorney said it was striking to see a doctor seemingly vanish while facing allegations of that magnitude.

The malpractice suits remain pending, and at the time of his arrest, he was working at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois.

They said, “OSF is cooperating with authorities who will provide any further information.”
