The View cohost says she witnessed Joy Behar terrorize restaurant staff over temperature, light, and noise

Ana Navarro said she and Behar attended a New York City steakhouse — later revealed to be Porter House — and observed the comedian making multiple requests.

Joy Behar’s notoriously interruptive army of digital devices regularly terrorizes The View set, and their owner has apparently carried that energy over to the Porter House restaurant in New York City, according to cohost Ana Navarro.

During a discussion about Americans’ eating habits on Wednesday morning’s episode of the talk show, Behar quipped, “I went to dinner with Ana last night, and I’ll tell you something. I’ve dined with supermodels that ate more than you did.”

After Navarro recounted her meal, she joked about Behar’s temperament at the restaurant.

“By the way, I don’t know what you’re going to do when they close that restaurant,” Navarro said, referencing Porter House’s impending closure. “First, it was too hot, so she told them to turn it down. Then, it was too loud, so she told them to turn the music off. Then, it was too much light, so she told them to put the shades down!”

Sunny Hostin turned toward Behar to exclaim, “Joy!” while conservative panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin observed, “She’s Joy Behar! She’s earned it!”

Adding an even wilder point to her growing list of restaurant horrors, Behar even admitted that, “They let the dogs come” to the restaurant, too.

Later, Behar lamented the reported upcoming closure of the establishment, which she speculated was due to “an incredibly high rent” in the city.

“I resent it, and I don’t like that because I love that place,” Behar continued. “I have so many friends who work there, all the waiters and sommelier and the maître d’s.”

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to a manager who was on a shift when Behar and Navarro visited Porter House for comment.

The 82-year-old comedian has a long history of grievances pertaining to food and commercial products, including that one time a shampoo bottle plagued her line of vision in the shower.

When it comes to dining, Behar also apparently refuses to make her best friend, actress Susie Essman, a gluten-free version of her famous lasagna.

“Um, she’s a terrific cook. She makes a mean lasagna, baby,” Essman told Andy Cohen in 2024. “But, I’m gluten-free, and she refuses to try to make a gluten-free one. I think it’s a problem.”
