New details have started to emerge after the body of Celeste Rivas was found in a vehicle registered to the singer D4vd, and now his friends have spoken out.

Though he’s still not been named as a suspect, and no arrest has been made, police are investigating the disappearance and subsequent death of California teen Celeste Rivas, 15. His LA rental was raided last week, with police taking electronics in for analysis, and he then moved out of the property shortly after.

Speaking to TMZ, the unnamed friends, who “frequently” partied with D4vd and Celeste, described the singer as “a very gentle person.” Despite that, the news that her body was found in D4vd’s car was “just extremely disturbing and confusing.”

Though they didn’t publicly share information on “PDA”, they were led to believe that Celeste and D4vd were “romantically involved” as “Celeste seemed to mirror” D4vd’s innate shyness.

Relaying the friends’ words, TMZ reporter Charlie Neff  said: “Everything he did in his life, she kind of seemed to follow.”

There has been a lot of public backlash to the alleged relationship, given that D4vd is 20 and Celeste was 14 when they first met. His friends thought she was in college.

“She attended USC from what they believed,” the journalist said, adding that she frequented “clubs and parties” with a multitude of fake IDs, which the police confirmed. “No one really questioned much about her background … they just knew her as this college student who went to USC.”

Before his friends, D4vd’s neighbour spoke out

Also this week came statements from D4vd’s neighbour, who had returned to the Los Angeles area to find the news story taken off. Though the unnamed man didn’t have many interactions with the couple, he did detail some insight into their relationship.

“They were pretty quiet. I never saw police there, and didn’t hear them partying or anything, nothing wild. I was shocked to find out what happened,” he said.

“I didn’t know he was a singer, but I knew he had a Tesla as it was always parked outside. He was with the girl regularly, all the time. I last saw them a couple of months ago, I’m not sure, but I thought they were just kids, like a couple [aged] 18/19. I had no idea, it’s crazy. I’d be in my car and we’d acknowledge each other, say hi, that was about it, when they were heading to the store or wherever.”

In one interaction, D4vd’s neighbour asked him about his Tesla – the one where Celeste’s body was found – after he was involved in some kind of traffic collision.
