It feels like the Epstein scandal has been going on forever. And yet, Prince Andrew was photographed with members of the royal family at the funeral of the Duchess of Kent just recently, so despite the fact that Andrew is no longer a working royal, it’s hard to say that the scandal has affected him that much. However, the latest email leak proving that Sarah Ferguson actually apologized to the convicted sex offender has brought the scandal back to the forefront. Could it be the breaking point?
“The optics certainly don’t look good, but that sort of doesn’t worry Andrew,” The Daily Mail reported, with the newspaper adding that there’s very little the King can do as Prince Andrew has a rock solid lease, and unless he can’t afford to stay at Royal Lodge, it will be very difficult to evict him. However, the newspaper indicates that it’s very clear “the public feels something needs to be done,” and that what King Charles might decide to do is strip Prince Andrew of his title.

However, the newspaper indicates that it’s very clear “the public feels something needs to be done,” and that what King Charles might decide to do is strip Prince Andrew of his title.
Of course, if he does, the Daily Mail then says he stops being the Duke of York and reverts to a Prince, which doesn’t feel that much like a punishment.
Just a few days ago, RadarOnline reported that King Charles wanted both Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson removed from Royal Lodge following new revelations about their links to Epstein, calling it the “final straw” for the couple. This followed revelations from the Mail on Sunday that Ferguson apologized to Epstein just weeks after publicly disowning him in 2011.
“The king feels deeply that Royal Lodge cannot remain a sanctuary for the Duke and Duchess of York. After everything that has come out, he wants them out. It’s not just about optics anymore – it’s about trying to preserve the integrity of the monarchy,” one insider said.
“The King’s patience is at an end,” another insider added. “If Sarah’s income dries up and Andrew has no means of support, their hand may finally be forced. Charles is determined that Royal Lodge will not be their refuge forever.”
Reports have even indicated that if King Charles doesn’t or can’t get them evicted, Prince William will when it’s his time. The future king reportedly holds a grudge against his uncle, not just for the way he feels Andrew is an embarrassment to the institution of the monarchy, but for what his uncle has reportedly said about Kate Middleton. And that grudge reportedly extends to Sarah Ferguson.
“[William] also loathes Sarah, Andrew’s ex-wife, and can’t wait for the day when his father throws them both out. If Charles doesn’t, I guarantee you the first thing William does when he eventually becomes king is to get them evicted,” Andrew Lownie’s book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, says.
For now, it seems King Charles isn’t ready to cut his brother off, whether for fear that he could go rogue or due to genuine affection. “The King doesn’t want to cut ties with his brother, former sister-in-law and that side of the family,” a source told the Daily Mail. But he can strip Andrew of his titles, and is keeping that card in his pocket, in case he needs to play it.
