Fired Michigan Coach Sherrone Moore Faces Criminal Charges Amid Affair Scandal and OnlyFans DM Allegations

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore has been charged with felony home invasion, misdemeanor stalking in a domestic relationship, and misdemeanor breaking and entering following his arrest just hours after the school terminated him for an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.

Moore, 39, who led the Wolverines to a 9-3 record in 2025, was fired “with cause” on December 10 after an internal university investigation uncovered “credible evidence” of the relationship. Athletic director Warde Manuel announced the dismissal in a statement, emphasizing zero tolerance for such conduct.

Hours later, Pittsfield Township police responded to reports of an alleged assault on the 3000 block of Ann Arbor Saline Road. Authorities detained Moore, and he was booked into Washtenaw County Jail. The staff member has been identified in reports as Paige Shiver, Moore’s executive assistant and daughter of longtime Chicago Bears scout Jeff Shiver. She remains employed by the university’s athletic department as of late December.

As the scandal unfolded, social media scrutiny intensified. Users discovered Moore’s Instagram following list included numerous OnlyFans creators, Instagram models, and young women. This led to claims from Houston-based fitness influencer and OnlyFans model Mia Sorety, who has nearly 1.7 million Instagram followers.

Sorety posted on X that she “wasn’t surprised he was all in my DMs trying to risk it all with an OF model.” She alleged Moore messaged her during halftime of Michigan’s November 29 loss to Ohio State, as well as before, during, and after other games. Sorety claimed the exchanges occurred while Moore was on the sideline coaching.

Further allegations surfaced, including reports that Moore contacted Sorety shortly after his jail release on December 12, accusing her of leaking details to media. Sorety shared blurred screenshots and denied some escalated rumors, such as offers of season tickets in exchange for group encounters following Michigan’s 2024 national championship. She clarified certain claims stemmed from misunderstandings but maintained the initial DM exchanges occurred.

Online investigators also noted Moore’s attendance at a 2018 Kentucky Derby party hosted by Sean “Diddy” Combs, though no direct ties to Combs’ legal issues were alleged.

University President Domenico Grasso addressed the community in a letter, calling Moore’s actions a “breach of trust” painful for many, especially those directly involved. Grasso pledged continued investigation into all facts.

The fallout has rippled through the program. Top recruits and prospects reportedly decommitted amid the turmoil. Michigan appointed associate head coach Biff Poggi as interim leader for the upcoming Cheez-It Citrus Bowl against Texas on December 31.

Moore’s firing for cause relieves the university of paying out the remaining approximately $12 million on his contract. He succeeded Jim Harbaugh in 2024 after serving as offensive coordinator and interim coach during Michigan’s 2023 national title run. Moore’s overall record stood at 17-8.

Former coach Harbaugh, now with the Los Angeles Chargers, said he was “still processing” the events when asked.

The case has drawn comparisons to past coaching scandals, highlighting risks of personal misconduct in high-profile positions. Moore faces a pretrial hearing in January 2026.
