Authorities in Spain have launched an investigation following the tragic death of 14-year-old Jaccely Liseth Rodríguez Montilla, a Honduran teenager who died after falling from a balcony at the apartment building where she was living with her mother. The incident occurred on the morning of March 11, 2026, in the municipality of Molina de Segura.
Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 8:06 a.m. after reports that a young girl had fallen from a residential building. Paramedics arrived quickly and attempted to assist the victim, but despite their efforts, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death has shocked both local residents and members of the Honduran community living in Spain. According to information provided by the girl’s father, the teenager had traveled to Spain to spend the end-of-year holidays with her mother. He said she had planned to stay there to celebrate her upcoming 15th birthday.

However, the father has claimed that his daughter had previously expressed concerns about living with her mother. According to his statements, the teenager told him she did not want to remain with her mother because she felt she was experiencing mistreatment. These allegations have added further questions to the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The father is now appealing for help to repatriate his daughter’s body to Honduras so that she can receive a proper burial according to the family’s wishes. He says he hopes his daughter can be laid to rest in her homeland with dignity and surrounded by relatives who loved her.
Spanish authorities have confirmed that the Policía Nacional has opened an official investigation into the incident. Investigators say the case is being examined under standard protocol to determine the exact circumstances that led to the teenager’s death.
One line of investigation involves examining whether bullying or other social pressures may have played a role. Police officials noted that the teenager had been enrolled for approximately two months at a secondary school in Molina de Segura. At the time of the incident, no formal bullying complaints or anti-harassment protocols had been initiated by the school.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing a loud impact shortly before emergency services were called. One witness told local media that the girl’s mother had been preparing for an upcoming celebration because her daughter was expected to turn 15 soon.
Authorities have emphasized that investigators are carefully reviewing all available information. Officials say they must determine whether the death resulted from a voluntary act, an accident, or another factor that may have influenced the teenager’s actions.
Police representatives explained that investigations of this type often involve reviewing witness statements, examining the environment of the incident, and analyzing the personal circumstances surrounding the victim’s life. The goal is to understand whether external pressures or events may have contributed to the tragedy.
For now, the community remains in mourning as authorities work to clarify what happened. The loss of such a young life has deeply affected those who knew her and has sparked broader conversations about the challenges faced by teenagers living abroad and adjusting to new environments.
As the investigation continues, the family of Jaccely Liseth Rodríguez Montilla hopes that answers will emerge about the circumstances that led to the devastating loss of their daughter. Meanwhile, her father continues seeking assistance to bring her home to Honduras so she can receive a final farewell among her loved ones.
