Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, recently visited his father, King Charles, for the first time in 19 months, as noted byPeople. After the visit, Prince Harry talked with The Guardian and noted that in the foreseeable future, his father is one of his top priorities.
On September 14, The Guardian shared insight from Prince Harry as he traveled to Ukraine. He reflected on his visit home and suggested it may pave the way for his family to spend more time in the UK in the months ahead. According to Prince Harry, the time he just spent in the UK has “brought that closer” to becoming a reality.
Throughout the coming year, Prince Harry shared, “the focus really has to be on my dad.”
“I have enjoyed the week. I have always loved the UK and I always will love the UK. It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about. I have been able to spend some time with people that I have known for so long. It is hard to do it from far away.”

Buckingham Palace revealed in February 2024 that King Charles, 76, had been diagnosed with cancer, according to People. Specifics regarding the type of cancer, stage of cancer, or treatments have been sparse.
According to Hello! on September 3, King Charles shared during a visit with patients at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital that he was “not too bad” when asked about his recovery.
Prince Harry Says He’s Happy With His Life
As for Prince Harry’s family drama playing out publicly, he insists, “My conscience is clear.”
He also told The Guardian, “I am very happy with who I am and I like the life that I lead.” Prince Harry acknowledged that the press tends to paint him as someone unhappy.
Prince Harry noted, “It is only in certain elements of the press where you see this talk about me being down or saying I am not smiling. This comes from people who think they know what I am thinking and how I am feeling. They are wrong.”
“I have certainly had to deal with some very stressful events over the last four years…finding out certain things that have really, really hurt,” he admitted.
He also noted, “You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth.”
Neither King Charles nor Prince Harry has shared specifics about their recent visit. Prince Harry said in the past that he hoped to reconcile with his family.
In May, Prince Harry told the BBC that he would “love a reconciliation.” In part, he admitted, that was because he did “not know how much longer my father has.”
“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious,” he added.
