Rob Reiner reportedly said he was “petrified” his son Nick could “hurt” him, in his final words at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party before he and his wife were found dead on Sunday.
One of the A-listers in attendance at the late director’s memorial service on Monday left the rest of the mourners in tears when they revealed the final words Rob allegedly spoke at the party, reports the Daily Mail.
“I’m petrified of [Nick]. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I’m afraid of my son. I think my own son can hurt me,” the unspecified celeb recalled Rob said, according to a source who was at the funeral service, which was held at comedian Albert Brooks’ mansion in Los Angeles.
Many of those in the crowd at the event allegedly became emotional upon hearing the star’s words.
Also in attendance at the sorrowful affair was “The Princess Bride” star Billy Crystal and his wife Janice, as well as comedians Larry David, Bill Hader and Conan O’Brien.
Reps for Rob have not responded to Page Six’s repeated requests for comment.

In the hours leading up to Rob and Michele’s death, the couple was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation with Nick, who allegedly “freaked out” and had a massive blow-up at O’Brien’s Christmas party on Dec. 13, a source confirmed to The Post.
“They had had an argument at Conan’s holiday party, and Rob had been telling people that they’re scared for Nick and scared that his mental state was deteriorating,” a lifelong friend of the family told the outlet.
According to multiple outlets, Nick was acting erratically with guests at the party.
“Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,” an insider previously told People. Meanwhile, another source alleged to Us Weekly that Nick behaved “creepily” at the fancy party.
Rob and his wife were found stabbed to death at their Brentwood home in Los Angeles on Dec. 14. Rob was 78. Michele was 70.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed their official causes of death were listed as “multiple sharp force injuries.” The manner of death for the parents was listed as a homicide.
Nick is accused of fatally stabbing his parents “in approximately the early morning hours” of Sunday, Dec. 14. He reportedly fled the scene but was arrested later that evening and has since been charged with two counts of first degree murder.
Nick made his first court appearance since his parents’ deaths on Wednesday. An arraignment for his case has been set for Jan. 7, 2026.
