SHOCKING CONFESSION from an Olympic Gold Medalist: “I Had NO CHOICE But to Join OnlyFans to Chase Another Winter Gold!” 😱🥇
You read that right… A literal OLYMPIC CHAMPION — the woman who stood on the podium in PyeongChang — just admitted she’s been funding her dreams (and her whole TEAM) through OnlyFans because sponsorships dried up and bobsledding costs a FORTUNE.
She calls it “the BEST thing that ever happened to me”… but also “a bit sad” because…

As the 2026 Winter Olympics approach, German bobsledder Lisa Buckwitz has drawn attention not only for her athletic credentials but for her candid disclosure about using the subscription platform OnlyFans to support her training and competition expenses.
Buckwitz, 31, won gold in the two-woman bobsled event at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics alongside pilot Mariama Jamanka. That victory marked a breakout moment for the then-brakeman, who helped deliver one of Germany’s standout performances in South Korea. She returned to the Olympics in 2022 in Beijing, finishing fourth in the same event—a near-miss that fueled her determination to qualify again.
In late 2024, Buckwitz announced she was joining OnlyFans as an “OnlyFans athlete.” She began posting content focused on her fitness routine, nutrition advice, competition preparation, and daily life as an elite athlete. Subscriptions start at around $24.99 per month, with bundle options available.
In a recent interview with German tabloid Bild, Buckwitz explained the financial pressures that led to the decision. Bobsledding is an expensive sport, with seasonal costs for a team estimated at €50,000 or more. These include specialized equipment like sleds and runners, international travel for races and training camps, coaching fees, and compensation for push athletes who help launch the sled at the start.
“Without additional income sources, it’s tough to keep going at this level,” Buckwitz said, according to translations from the interview. She described OnlyFans as “a stroke of luck” that enabled her to cover expenses for herself and her teammates. “It’s the best thing that could have happened to me,” she added.
Buckwitz also acknowledged the downside. “It’s a bit sad that I can’t just focus on my competitive sport,” she noted. “Sure, I’m an Olympic champion. But nobody’s interested in Lisa Buckwitz just because of the gold medal. That’s unfortunately the downside.”
Despite the platform’s association with adult content, Buckwitz has emphasized that her page features athletic and lifestyle material—training in sports bras, bikinis, or her form-fitting bobsled suit, along with motivational posts. She has stated she will not post fully nude photos or videos.
Her story comes amid a trend of Olympic athletes turning to alternative revenue streams. In recent years, several competitors from various sports have launched OnlyFans accounts to supplement modest prize money, sponsorships, or national federation support. Winter sports, in particular, can be resource-intensive with fewer mainstream endorsement opportunities compared to summer disciplines like track or swimming.
Buckwitz serves in Germany’s Bundeswehr as a sports soldier, a program that provides salary, training facilities, and some logistical support for elite athletes. However, she has indicated that this alone does not cover the full scope of costs for international competition, especially in a niche event like women’s bobsled.
Her athletic resume remains strong. After the 2018 gold, she continued competing at the highest level. In 2024, she claimed a world championship title and added a bronze in the monobob event at the IBSF World Championships in Winterberg, Germany. Those results helped secure her spot on Germany’s team for Milan-Cortina 2026, where she will compete in the two-woman event alongside teammates like Neele Schuten.
The 2026 Games, set to run from February 6–22 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, will test whether Buckwitz can reclaim podium success. Germany’s bobsled program has long been dominant, and Buckwitz’s experience positions her as a contender. Her team currently ranks fourth in the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) women’s two-person standings.
Buckwitz is not the first athlete to face financial barriers. Many Olympians in non-revenue sports self-fund or seek creative solutions. In Germany, reports have noted other athletes in lesser-known disciplines turning to platforms like OnlyFans or producing nude calendars for fundraising.
Buckwitz’s openness has sparked debate. Supporters praise her entrepreneurship and transparency about the realities athletes face. Critics question whether such ventures distract from sport or alter public perception of Olympians. Buckwitz has pushed back against assumptions, framing her content as empowering and sport-focused.
As the Olympics near, Buckwitz continues training and posting updates. Whether her OnlyFans income proves decisive in her performance remains to be seen, but her story underscores the economic challenges even decorated athletes encounter.
With the Games just weeks away, all eyes will be on the ice track—and on whether Buckwitz can add another chapter to her remarkable career.
