🚨 “THEY’RE ALIVE… Malehya will crack soon.”
That’s the chilling whisper now sweeping through the tiny Nova Scotia town where 6-year-old Lily and 4-year-old Jack Sullivan vanished without a trace 11 days ago.
RCMP just raided the “Black House” — a rotting, abandoned property 3 miles from the kids’ home. Inside: fresh trash, overturned furniture, a child-sized handprint on a dusty window… and signs someone was squatting there DAYS ago.
Cops won’t say it out loud yet, but locals are openly claiming the children are being hidden, not buried. One source close to the investigation allegedly told a neighbor: “Malehya knows exactly where they are. It’s only a matter of time before she breaks.”
Who is Malehya? Why are seasoned Mounties suddenly treating this like a hostage case instead of a recovery? And what the hell was really going on inside that “perfect little family” before the kids disappeared?
The biggest Canadian missing-kids mystery in decades just flipped upside down. Click before the next search warrant drops.

Eleven days after 6-year-old Lily Sullivan and her 4-year-old brother Jack vanished from their rural Nova Scotia home in the middle of the night, a single phrase is ricocheting through this stunned community like gunfire: “They’re alive.”
RCMP investigators executed a search warrant Tuesday on an abandoned, decrepit property locals call the “Black House” — a sagging, paint-peeled farmhouse just three miles from the Sullivan residence on Highway 289. What they found inside has reportedly shifted the entire direction of the case from grim recovery to urgent rescue.
Sources with direct knowledge of the search told the Halifax Chronicle Herald that officers discovered fresh garbage (including juice boxes and children’s fruit snack wrappers), overturned furniture, a child-sized handprint smeared on a second-floor window, and a mattress dragged into the living room with what appeared to be recent indentations.
Most chilling: a half-eaten kids’ meal from a Truro fast-food chain dated November 22 — six days AFTER the children disappeared.
“The scene screamed recent occupancy,” one law-enforcement source said on condition of anonymity. “This wasn’t kids sneaking in to explore months ago. Someone was living there, and they left in a hurry.”
As cadaver dogs, drones, and ground-penetrating radar swept the surrounding 47-acre property into Wednesday night, whispers began spreading through Brookfield and nearby Stewiacke that the Sullivan children are being hidden, not harmed.
“They’re alive,” one longtime resident told CBC News outside the corner store Wednesday afternoon. “Everyone’s saying it now. Malehya will crack soon.”
Malehya is 29-year-old Malehya Ann Brooks-Sullivan — the children’s mother and the last known adult to see them alive.
RCMP have repeatedly called Brooks-Sullivan a “person of interest,” stopping short of naming her a suspect. She has not been charged with any crime, but investigators confirmed Tuesday that she is no longer cooperating fully and has retained Halifax criminal defense attorney Joel Pink — the same lawyer who represented notorious killer Allan Legere in the 1990s.
Brooks-Sullivan’s last public statement, delivered through a family friend on November 18, insisted the children vanished from their beds between 2:30 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. on November 16 while she slept on the couch after a 16-hour nursing shift at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. She claimed the back door was left unlocked because the latch was broken.
Yet multiple inconsistencies have piled up:
Neighbors reported hearing a vehicle “revving hard” around 3 a.m. that night.
A Ring camera across the road captured a dark SUV leaving the Sullivan driveway at 3:07 a.m. — a vehicle matching one registered to Brooks-Sullivan’s estranged common-law husband, Daniel Sullivan, who has been in Alberta working the oil sands since October.
Brooks-Sullivan told police she called Daniel in a panic at 6:20 a.m. when she discovered the kids missing, but phone records obtained by Global News show no outgoing calls from her device until 8:42 a.m. — when she dialed 911.
Perhaps most damning: two separate witnesses have now come forward claiming Brooks-Sullivan spoke openly in the weeks before the disappearance about wanting to “start over somewhere new” and being “tired of the fighting” over custody with Daniel Sullivan’s family.
One coworker at the hospital told investigators that Brooks-Sullivan showed her photos of remote cabins in Cape Breton and asked, “How far do you think someone could get with two little kids before anyone noticed?”
On Wednesday evening, RCMP Major Crime Unit Sgt. Todd Ferrier refused to confirm or deny that the investigation has pivoted toward a possible parental abduction or concealment scenario.
“We are exploring every avenue,” Ferrier said at a brief press conference outside the Stewiacke detachment. “We remain hopeful that Lily and Jack will be returned safely to their loved ones.”
Behind the scenes, however, the tone has shifted dramatically. Multiple sources told CTV News that investigators now believe the children may have been moved multiple times in the past 11 days — and that someone close to the family is actively helping keep them hidden.
The “Black House” at 1147 Old Mill Road has long been a source of local legend. Vacant since a 2018 double murder-suicide, the property has been boarded up repeatedly by the municipality, only for squatters to break in again. Neighbors say they noticed “weird lights” flickering inside last week and assumed it was teenagers partying.
Now those same neighbors are combing their own outbuildings and barns, convinced the children could be stashed anywhere within a 20-kilometre radius.
Daniel Sullivan, the children’s father, flew back from Fort McMurray on November 17 and has been cooperating fully with police. In an emotional plea posted to Facebook Tuesday night, he wrote:
“I know in my heart my babies are alive. Lily is the bravest big sister in the world and she’s keeping Jack safe. Whoever has them — please, just drop them at any hospital, church, or fire station. No questions. I just want my kids home.”
As of Thursday morning, the Amber Alert remains active across Atlantic Canada and the northeastern U.S. border. Lily is described as 3-foot-8 with long blonde hair and blue eyes, last seen wearing pink unicorn pajamas. Jack is 3-foot-2 with curly brown hair, last seen in Spider-Man pajamas.
RCMP have set up a tip line (1-888-310-1122) and are begging anyone who visited the “Black House” property or noticed unusual activity in the area since November 15 to come forward immediately.
In Brookfield, Halloween decorations still hang from porches — frozen in time since the night everything changed. Schools remain on lockdown for outdoor recess. And at the Sullivan home, two small bicycles sit untouched in the driveway beneath a makeshift memorial of stuffed animals and candles.
One handwritten note taped to Lily’s pink bike reads:
“Come home soon, sweet girl. We all believe you’re still out there.”
Whether that hope is about to be rewarded — or cruelly shattered — may depend on how long Malehya Brooks-Sullivan can hold her silence.
