Why hasn't D4vd been arrested? Experts explain after body of Celeste Rivas, 15, was found in his Tesla | Daily Mail Online

Singer-songwriter d4vd sparked online controversy after commenting “ok” on a TikTok related to Celeste Rivas’ case and later deleting it, intensifying scrutiny amid the ongoing investigation. Fans have also noted his recent Fortnite activity and locked accounts, fueling speculation about his online behaviour.

The mystery surrounding singer-songwriter d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, and his alleged relationship with Celeste Rivas Fernandez, whose body was found decomposed inside his Tesla earlier this month, continues to deepen. However, it’s his online activity that has left fans perplexed. Just days after he was spotted playing Fortnite amid the ongoing investigation into the 15-year-old’s death, he was seen leaving a comment on TikTok.

Although the comment has since been deleted, many are questioning his seemingly nonchalant behaviour. Whether or not they were in a relationship, it’s clear that he knew the deceased, as multiple photos and videos show them together.

d4vd comments on a TikTok video, then deletes it

A screenshot of a TikTok comment from singer d4vd has gone viral, showing him simply writing “ok” in response to a video about ongoing theories surrounding his connection to Celeste Rivas’ case. The TikTok featured a fan posing with the Romantic Homicide hitmaker, while the photo in the background appeared to show his vanity van with a nameplate that seemingly spelt out Celeste’s name. Although the comment has since been deleted, the screenshot continues to circulate online, fuelling speculation amid the ongoing investigation into the minor’s death.

Is the screenshot fake? Fans quash the possibility

While in the world of AI and social media, anything can be faked, many fans believe this comment was genuine. Some have even speculated that d4vd may have simply forgotten to switch to an alternate account, accidentally posting the comment himself.

A screenshot of the comment was shared on the d4vd2 subreddit, with the caption, “I think it’s pretty obvious that he is aware of people talking about him everywhere on social media. Especially on Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok. Let’s not forget that a couple of days ago, his Fortnite account was private. Good for this TikToker to pretty much screenshot this.”

Responding to the post, one Redditor wrote, “He probably thought he was on an alt account. Nothing about this screams fake, in the sense that, given the case, why would you only photoshop the word ‘ok’ and not something more likely to go viral? This is a supposed clout chaser, right?

The person quoted is also correct; the owner of the page can see deleted comments for a period of time after they’re deleted. And the alignment of the hearts is off due to the like ratio. Check it for yourself.”

“The fact he’s allowed online at all is crazy. goddamn,” another user said.

“This case is going to be studied for decades to come as one of the more bizarre cases ever. These are similar cases, yes, but his being online and showing her presence online is extremely stupid.

His playing Fortnite while all this is going down and then making his tracker profiles private after people realise proves he sees these posts and comments.

He is extremely messed up in the head, and I hope he gets what’s coming to him,” wrote a third user.

One person added, “I think it’s real; he posted the full print in comments and had the hour and cellphone stats bar, and ‘replying to d4vd’ in the comment bar, so he clicked in his comment through notification… Ofc this doesn’t prove 100%, but it’s an interesting detail that’s kind of easy to miss if he was faking it.”

d4vd locks Fortnite account after fans spot him online

d4vd recently faced public scrutiny after being spotted playing Fortnite and active on Discord, despite the ongoing investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas. Following these sightings, fans captured screenshots of his online activity, prompting him to lock his Fortnite account. This move has intensified online speculation and concern among fans, with some questioning his actions during such a serious investigation.

For the unversed, Celeste’s body was discovered on September 8, 2025, in the trunk of a Tesla registered to musician d4vd in Hollywood Hills, after the vehicle had been ticketed for being abandoned on August 27.

She was later officially identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on September 16, 2025. Following the discovery, the LAPD executed a search warrant at a residence linked to d4vd, seizing electronics and computers for further investigation.
