A man and a woman in their 50s have pleaded guilty to kidnapping a 10-month-old baby in Blackpool.
Police rushed to Carlyle Avenue at around 10.17am on August 16, 2022, amid reports that a girl had been kidnapped in the famous seaside town.
In the hour that followed two suspects, Michael Wellings, 50, and 52-year-old Lisa Green were arrested. The child was safely returned.
Following a consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, both were charged with kidnapping.
Both defendants appeared in the dock at Preston Crown Court on October 16, where they pleaded guilty to a single count of kidnapping.
They are due to be sentenced at a later date following the conclusion of unrelated legal proceedings.
