A 42-year-old man from the United Kingdom was arrested Monday afternoon in Quebec City in connection with the disappearance of a 16-year-old English girl.

Quebec City police conducted a search for the missing teen near Montmorency Falls at the request of the West Midlands Police in Birmingham, England.

Police found the girl in the area accompanied by the suspect, according to a statement from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ). Police said she is in good physical health. The man was being interviewed by investigators Tuesday morning and was scheduled to appear in Quebec City court on Tuesday to face several charges.

Multiple agencies collaborated on the arrest, including the West Midlands Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canada Border Services Agency and the Sûreté du Québec.
