She logged on for casual scrolling — and instead, got a front-row seat to a marital scandal.
A 30-year-old Reddit user made a jaw-dropping discovery while scrolling through one of those infamous Facebook groups for people worried they might be dating the same guy.
“I just found my friend’s husband … on an ‘are we dating the same guy’ group,” she recently wrote in the r/relationship_advice forum, clearly stunned.
The post showed her friend’s spouse — a 35-year-old man — with a warning: Anyone considering a date, watch out.
According to the Redditor, the timing couldn’t have been more dramatic. He had been posted in the group around the same time he was planning his wife’s epic 30th birthday bash.
“I shared his picture with friends to confirm it was him … everyone agreed,” she wrote.
The Redditor explained how she has been friends with the wife for seven years. Still, confronting the situation is no small task.
“I absolutely do plan on telling her but I’m unsure how to do so as I feel so horrible about potentially blowing up her life,” she confessed. “Well, he did, but I hate being the messenger for something so awful.”
The post has sparked a flurry of comments, with Redditors divided over whether to expose the cheater or stay silent.
Some praised the poster for her loyalty, while others warned of potential fallout.
“Tell her directly but calmly. Frame it as ‘I’d want to know if I were in your shoes.’ Then let her decide what to do with that info,” one user advised.
Another said to proceed with caution: “OP, don’t get too involved. Don’t get in the middle of finding out information. Share the link to the post with your friend in some manner and back away. Give her a heads up and let it go.”
Cheating can show up in the strangest places. One influencer caught her boyfriend’s side piece using her skincare products via her Ring camera, while another woman discovered hundreds of mysterious blocked numbers on her husband’s phone — all belonging to other women.
And don’t forget the cash trail. Suspicious ATM withdrawals could be an overlooked smoking gun, experts also warn.
Overall, “Are We Dating the Same Guy?” might just be the modern woman’s version of marriage counseling — and the internet never misses a case.
