AN ELDERLY couple have tragically been found dead together at home after leaving a note warning relatives not to enter, an inquest heard.

William, 87, and Gloria Hall, 84, were sadly discovered at their Huddersfield property on November 20 last year.

A relative raised the alarm after reading a note on the front door – warning her not to go inside the property, on Church Lane in South Crosland.

An inquest, held at Bradford Coroners’ Court, heard William, known as Tony, and Gloria had been married for 62 years.

Gloria was found unresponsive on the sofa in their living room, while Tony was discovered suspended with a ligature.

Officers found paperwork which indicated the couple did not want to be resuscitated, the hearing was told.

Assistant coroner Charlotte Keighley confirmed Gloria’s cause of death is yet to be determined.

The inquest heard West Yorkshire Police has launched a probe into both deaths, which are being treated as “unexplained”.

The force has also requested a three-month delay of the coronial investigation.

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to the couple, who were loved parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.

Security company Hall & Rhodes, co-founded by Mr Hall, posted: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tony & Gloria Hall.”
