THIS is the moment a dog pooped live on air in front of hosts, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.
The long-time ABC host was left absolutely mortified as she cried out, ‘that smells pungent!’
Kelly Ripa, 54, has hosted the Live! morning show on ABC since 2001 after she replaced Kathie Lee Gifford.
She has fronted the daytime talk show alongside the likes of Regis Philbin, Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest.
This was before her actor husband, Mark Consuelos, 54, was hired to host the show with her.
His appointment bringing the format back to its roots of a married couple partnership on-screen.
However, there was one moment which has left the longtime televisionpersonality absolutely mortified.
As part of the show’s ‘Raise the Woof week’ the pair invited Veterinarian, Dr. Will Draper into the studio.
Their set was completely transformed to look like central park, complete with wooden benches and plastic grass on the floor.
He was welcomed into the studio to discuss the do’s and the don’ts of looking after canine companions.
Kelly and Mark both love dogs and they currently share a Maltese and Shih Tzu mix named Lena.
Their senior dog Chewie was adopted in 2021 before he passed away earlier this year, but they both held and stroked the animals on set.
However, Dr Will was left with a nasty surprise when two of the dogs who ran around the set playing went awry.
He explained: “Being around other dogs helps them be less fearful, be less aggressive, [and] less anxious.
“They learn the smells and activities of other dogs.”
But right when he was talking about smells in what could only be described as an ironic moment, one of the dogs snuck round the back of his bench for some privacy.
The German Shepherd dog decided that was the moment to do a huge poop right on the set.
The audience were left groaning in a mixture of horror and hysterical excitement as they could see exactly what was happening.
Kelly joked: ‘Good dog! Good Dog!”
Dr Will was left completely confused by everyone’s reactions as he asked “what did I miss?”
But the TV hostess was more than happy to point out that the incident occurred “right behind” him.
Mark initially had an extremely serious expression before Kelly burst out into awkward laughter at the situation.
She cried out: “Wow, that’s pungent! That’s pungent,” before the veterinarian asked the hosts to switch places with him.
Mark tried to make light of the situation by asking what food the dogs should eat, whether it should be gourmet or not.
Dr Will joked: “That dog has had some fancy dog food, I can tell you that right now.”
