Michael Strahan has been cheering on his daughter Isabella in her modeling career, even as the 19-year-old was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with medulloblastoma. This common malignant tumorarises in the cerebellum, a part of the brain located at the base of the skull.
On Dec. 31, before publicly sharing the news about his daughter’s health, the Good Morning America anchor posted a photo on Instagram of Isabella in an ad campaign for Sephora Collection mascara, with two pictures screenshotted from the website and a third taken in-store of her photo on display.
“So proud of my beautiful and amazing daughter, @isabellastrahan on her first big campaign. Proud of you 👏🏾🙌🏾 #GirlDad” Michael, 52, captioned the post.
“THATS MY SISTER,” Isabella’s twin sister, Sophia Strahan, wrote in the comments of her dad’s post.
Isabella was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October after she started experiencing headaches — which she initially attributed to vertigo — during her freshman year at the University of Southern California.
The college student and her dad opened up about her health news in a segment that aired on Good Morning America Thursday. She explained in the interview that she underwent emergency surgery at Cedars-Sinai to remove the mass on Oct. 27, a day before her 19th birthday.

“I know she’s going through it, but I know that we’re never given more than we can handle and that she is going to crush this,” Strahan, 52, told his fellow co-anchor Robin Roberts on the show.
“I literally think that in a lot of ways, I’m the luckiest man in the world because I’ve got an amazing daughter,” he added.
In Isabella’s Instagram handle, she mentions that she is represented by modeling agencies Women 360 Management New York and Women Management Los Angeles.
On Jan. 7, she shared a series of photos to her account modeling a denim outfit. “Denim dump from October with @joecharlesphoto,” she captioned the post.
As for the future, Isabella said on GMA that the experience has given her a new outlook. “Perspective is a big thing,” she said. “I’m grateful. I am grateful just to walk or see friends or do something, ’cause when you can’t do something, it really impacts you.”
Michael echoed her sentiment. “You learn that you’re probably not as strong as you thought you were when you have to really think about the real things, and I realized that I need support from everybody,” he said.
“You think, ‘I’m the athlete, the tough guy, you know, I can come and handle, I’m the father in the family.’ It is not about any of that. It doesn’t matter. And it’s really made me change my perspective on so many things in my life.”
